SESSIONAL CHILDCARE (CCS Approved)*

We offer quality CCS Approved sessional Childcare programs in line with the Early Years Framework. Please enquire about this service and costs, or to arrange an orientation visit. Term bookings can be made at any time during the term if there are vacancies. Our waiting lists are revised during our terms and places are offered as they become available.

Bowen Street Community Centre is CSS approved. The childcare subsidy is a means tested benefit based on your family’s combined income and fortnightly activities such as work, study or volunteering. You can access more information about the Child Care Subsidy and how to apply for it here. Please note that the way we process rebates has changed. Parents will now only pay the gap fee.

PLAYGROUPS

Becoming a parent is a major life-changing experience. Our friendly playgroups meet the needs of families with babies and pre-school children 6 months to 4 years and are a wonderful opportunity to become part of the local community and make new friends. New families, carers, parents and grandparents are all welcome. We can accommodate up to fifteen families at a time with purpose-built indoor and secure outdoor spaces, play areas, kitchen facilities, toys, equipment, children’s bathroom and baby change facilities. We offer the opportunity to visit a playgroup for a few times at no cost to see if it suits your needs. The children bring morning tea to share and coffee/tea is provided for parents, carers and grandparents.

We offer a clean, safe, space for children to learn, play and explore. A place to meet and make new friends, where your child becomes familiar with and confident in a stimulating environment with quality toys to cater for babies to pre-schoolers. Bowen Street is adjacent to Bowen Gardens, Linga Coffee Shop, the bus stop and close to two local primary schools.

Hours: Playgroups meet for 2 hour sessions Monday to Friday at various times and some Saturday mornings.
